Volunteering
If you want to do volunteer work at a BCPS school in which you are in the building or working with students in any capacity, you must complete the volunteer training. The training must be done each year and must be done for each school where you plan to volunteer. Even those who are BCPS employees must complete the training if they are volunteering at a school. More information can be found here on the BCPS website.

Volunteer opportunities at Fullerton include:
Field trips
Helping teachers
Concerts and assemblies
Holiday Shop
Fun Fest (at end of the year)
Other special activities
The PTA is looking to build new opportunities this year. Your suggestions and ideas are welcome!

Clubs for Students
Guitar Club
Environmental Club (grades 4-5)
Vocal Club (grades 3-5)
For parents and students: information will be coming home soon.
For teachers: please submit receipts to the PTA as you go.

PTA Budget
We have a surplus due to limited spending during COVID and the amazing chocolate fundraiser at the end of last school year. We currently have more than $25,000 in our bank account and we have budgeted to spend this money on things we have traditionally supported, as well as some new items:

After school clubs
Field trips
Periodicals (such as Scholastic Magazine) for classrooms
Ice Cream Social
Trunk-a-Treat
The Holiday Shop
Teacher allotment – up to $150 for teachers to spend on items for their classrooms
Teacher and staff breakfast/luncheons
Custodial donations – for those who work overnight
PBIS Celebrations (a.k.a., “House Parties”)
Health Awareness Week
Yearbook
Fun Fest
Fifth Grade Graduation
Fifth grade math and gardening project

Fundraising
Please note that all money raised through the PTA goes directly back to the school. For example, last year, Mr. Huggins and his fifth grade students completed a math project regarding area and perimeter and used it to plan our new garden, which was then implemented with the help of PTA dollars. (Thank you, Mr. Huggins, for all your hard work on that!)

Information about fundraisers will be announced on the Fullerton PTA Facebook page and on fliers sent home through students.

If you prefer not to sell/buy things, but still want to contribute financially, we also offer a guilt free fundraiser. A receipt will be provided so that your donation can be tax deductible. A form for this will be sent home through students on Friday.

Spirit Wear
House T-Shirts will be sold again, but we don’t see a profit from those, so we are offering other spirit wear as well.

To order shirts and/or totes with the new mouse design, please use this link: https://form.jotform.com/222364892776166 Items ordered through this link will be delivered to your child’s teacher, who will pass it to your child.

Yearbook
If you take pictures of fun activities and events at Fullerton this year, please share them with Brittany via the Fullerton yearbook email: FullertonES.Yearbook@gmail.com. If you would like to help with putting together the yearbook, please let Brittany know via the above email.

We sold every single copy of the yearbook from last year and hope to repeat that this year.

Membership
Cash and checks accepted for membership. Dues are $10 per family each year. A membership form (and envelopes for returning them to the PTA) will be sent home with students this Friday.

A Word from Principal Salkowski
Attending PTA meetings is a big help for showing support and learning about upcoming events and opportunities to contribute. Thank you so much for coming tonight.
